LATA MANGESHKAR RUK JAA RAAT LYRICS

Ruk ja Raat-Dil Ek Mandir Hai

Ruk ja raat thahar ja re chanda
Beete naa milan ki bela
Aaj chandni ki nagri mein
Aarmaanon ka mela

Ruk ja raat thahar ja re chanda
Beete na milan ki bela
Aaj chandni ki nagri mein
Aarmaanon ka mela

ruk ja raat thahar ja re chanda

Pahle milan ki yaadein lekar
Aayi hai yeh raat suhaani
Dohoratahi hai phir yeh sithaare
Meri thumhari prem kahani
Meri thumhari prem kahani

Ruk ja raat thahar ja re chanda
Beete naa milan ki bela
Aaj chandni kii nagrii mein
Aarmaanon ka mela

ruk ja raat thahar ja re chanda

Kal kaa darna, kaahe ke chintaa
Do tan hai man ek hamaare
Jeevan seemaa ke aage bhi
Aaaoongi main sang thumhare
Aaaoongi main sang thumhare

Ruk jaa raat thahar jaa re chanda
Beete naa milan kii bela
Aaj chandni kii nagrii mein
Aarmaanon kaa melaa

Ruk jaa raat thahar jaa re chanda
Beete naa milan kii bela
Aaj chandni kii nagrii mein
Aarmaanon kaa melaa

Saibo Lyrics – Bollywood Hindi Song Lyrics

grasp you with my heart

.

.

Put out my eyes, and I can see you still;
slam my ears to, and I can hear you yet;
and without any feet can go to you;
and tongueless, I can conjure you at will.
Break off my arms, I shall take hold of you
and grasp you with my heart as with a hand;
arrest my heart, my brain will beat as true;
and if you set this brain of mine afire,
upon my blood I then will carry you.

.
~ Rainer Maria Rilke
from The Book of Hours

the supple deer

.

.

The quiet opening
between fence strands
perhaps eighteen inches.

Antlers to hind hooves,
four feet off the ground,
the deer poured through.

No tuft of the coarse white belly hair left behind.

I don't know how a stag turns
into a stream, an arc of water.
I have never felt such accurate envy.

Not of the deer:

To be that porous, to have such largeness pass through me.

Mera Saaya Saath Hoga ( Mera Saaya - 1966) Lyrics

Lata - Mera Saaya Saath Hoga - Mera Saaya [1966]

Lyrics & Video of this Lata Mangeshkar Hit

tu jahan jahaa chalegaa,
mera saayaa saath hoga
meraa saayaa, meraa saayaa,
meraa saayaa, mera saaya

kabhee muz ko yaad kar ke
jo bahenge tere aanso
to wahee pe rok lenge
unhe aa ke mere aansoo
too jidhar kaa rukh karega,
meraa saayaa saath hogaa

too agar udaas hoga,
to udaas rahoongi main bhee
najar aaoo, yaa naa aaoo tere paas rahoongee main bhee
tu kahee bhee jaa rahegaa,
meraa saayaa saath hogaa

main agar bichhad bhee jaaoo,
kabhee meraa gam naa karanaa
meraa pyaar yaad kar ke,
kabhi aankh nam naa karanaa
tu jo mood ke dekh legaa,
meraa saayaa saath hogaa

mere gam rahaa hain shaamil tere dukh mein,
tere gam mein
mere pyaar ne diyaa hain,
teraa saath har janam mein
tu koi janam bhee legaa,
meraa saaya sath hoga

Mera Saaya Saath Hoga ( Lyrics )

how

.

.

How shall I hold on to my soul, so that
it does not touch yours? How shall I lift
it gently up over you on to other things?
I would so very much like to tuck it away
among long lost objects in the dark
in some quiet unknown place, somewhere
which remains motionless when your depths resound.
And yet everything which touches us, you and me,
takes us together like a single bow,
drawing out from two strings but one voice.
On which instrument are we strung?
And which violinist holds us in the hand?
O sweetest of songs.

~ Rainer Maria Rilke
.

to find himself in another

.

No, the great business of our time is this:
for one man to find himself in another one who is on the other side of the world.
Only by such contacts can there be peace,
can the sacredness of life be preserved and developed
and the image of God manifest itself in the world.

.
from  A Life in Letters

It is as if we met on a deeper level of life
on which individuals are not separate beings...
it is as if we were known to one another in God.
...

Although we are separated by great distances and even greater barriers
it gives me pleasure to speak to you as to one whom I feel to be a kindred mind....
...
It is true that a person always remains a person and utterly separate and apart from every other person.
But it is equally true that each person is destined to reach with others an understanding and a unity which transcend individuality, and Russian tradition describes this with a concept we do not fully possess in the West- "sobornost."

Ishq Na Kariyo Kakke lyrics of Pyaar Ka Panchnama

fragment from lost days

.
...Like birds that get used to walking
and grow heavier and heavier, as in falling:
the earth sucks out of their long claws
the brave memory of all
the great things that happen high up,
and makes them almost into leaves that cling
tightly to the ground, -
like plants which,
scarcely growing upward, creep into the earth,
sink lightly and softly and damply
into black clods and sicken there lifelessly, -
like mad children, - like a face
in a coffin, - like happy hands that
grow hesitant, because in the full goblet
things are mirrored that are not near, -
like calls for help which in the evening wind
collide with many dark huge chimes, -
like house plants that have dried for days,
like streets that are ill-framed, - like bright curls
within which jewels have grown blind, -
like early morning in April
facing the hospital's many windows:
the sick press up against the hall's seam
and look: the grace of a new light
makes all the streets seem vernal and wide;
they see only the bright majesty
that makes the houses young and laughing,
and don't know that all night long
a storm ripped the garments from the sky,
a storm of waters, where the world still freezes,
a storm which this very moment roars through the streets
and takes all burdens
off the shoulder of each thing, -

learn self-conquest

.

Learn self-conquest,
persevere thus for a time,
and you will perceive very clearly the advantage which you gain from it.
As soon as you apply yourself to contemplation,
you will at once feel your senses gather themselves together:
they seem like bees which return to the hive and there
shut themselves up to work at the making of honey.

Ithaka

.

.

As you set out for Ithaka hope your road is a long one, full of adventure, full of discovery. Laistrygonians, Cyclops, angry Poseidon—don't be afraid of them: you'll never find things like that on your way as long as you keep your thoughts raised high, as long as a rare excitement stirs your spirit and your body. Laistrygonians, Cyclops, wild Poseidon—you won't encounter them unless you bring them along inside your soul, unless your soul sets them up in front of you. Hope your road is a long one. May there be many summer mornings when, with what pleasure, what joy, you enter harbors you're seeing for the first time; may you stop at Phoenician trading stations to buy fine things, mother of pearl and coral, amber and ebony, sensual perfume of every kind— as many sensual perfumes as you can; and may you visit many Egyptian cities to learn and go on learning from their scholars. Keep Ithaka always in your mind. Arriving there is what you're destined for. But don't hurry the journey at all. Better if it lasts for years, so you're old by the time you reach the island, wealthy with all you've gained on the way, not expecting Ithaka to make you rich. Ithaka gave you the marvelous journey. Without her you wouldn't have set out. She has nothing left to give you now. And if you find her poor, Ithaka won't have fooled you. Wise as you will have become, so full of experience, you'll have understood by then what these Ithakas mean.

~ C.P. Cavafy
translated by Edmund Keeley

his birthday is today

Constantine Cavafy was born Konstantínos Pétrou Kaváfis in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1863, the ninth child of Constantinopolitan parents. His father died in 1870, leaving the family poor. Cavafy's mother moved her children to England, where the two eldest sons took over their father's business. Their inexperience caused the ruin of the family fortunes, so they returned to a life of genteel poverty in Alexandria. The seven years that Constantine Cavafy spent in England—from age nine to sixteen—were important to the shaping of his poetic sensibility: he became so comfortable with English that he wrote his first verse in his second language.

After a brief education in London and Alexandria, he moved with his mother to Constantinople, where they stayed with his grandfather and two brothers. Although living in great poverty and discomfort, Cavafy wrote his first poems during this period, and had his first love affairs with other men. After briefly working for the Alexandrian newspaper and the Egyptian Stock exchange, at the age of twenty-nine Cavafy took up an appointment as a special clerk in the Irrigation Service of the Ministry of Public Works—an appointment he held for the next thirty years. Much of his ambition during these years was devoted to writing poems and prose essays.

Retired at 23, Dushyant lives life on his own terms - no family, no relations, no history. This macho guy sells dope for a living and lives on a high of the 'powder'. A shady past that includes underworld contacts; he has been there and done that. Rarely flustered, his cool attitude and wild tattoos make him the fascination on Amy's life.

Gulshan Devaiya: Karan Chaudhary aka KC
He has the money, he has the style and he has the women. Life is one big party for this dude. 'Fun' is his middle name - booze, sex and drugs rule his life. A quirky sense of humor and a temper which tends to go beyond control. KC is the guy who ensures that the party never ends.

Kirti Kulhari: Tanya Sharma
Tanya - Pretty & petite. Tanya wants to be a supermodel. Or does she? Actually, her sister wants her to a supermodel. Working her way through numerous nameless ads, Tanya wants to break free. Kashmakash Movie Story

Kashmakash Movie Synopsis / Preview

This is a period film set in the 1920s, based on a short story by Rabindranath Tagore..

A tender romance blossoming in Kolkata between law student Ramesh and his friends sister Hemnalini, is nipped suddenly when his father sends an urgent and mysterious summons from his village home. There, the dutiful son is peremptorily ordered to marry Susheela, daughter of a hapless widow. Ramesh refuses. Confesses that his heart belongs to another. But the widow's fervent plea softens him ultimately. And he concedes, albeit with a heavy heart. The wedding takes place with due ceremony; and Ramesh sets out with his bride on a river boat journey back to Kolkata.

Soon a fierce storm arises; the boat tosses helplessly and finally capsizes in the churning waters. Later that night, Ramesh comes to his senses on a deserted shore under a starlit sky. Some distance away, he sees the unconscious form of a young bride. Her pulse is still beating, and in response to his voice calling 'Susheela' she opens her eyes at last. There is no one else in sight, alive or dead. The two move off, take a train to Kolkata, the bride wondering why they were not going to Kashi, but trusting his judgment implicitly.

Hem, his true love, knows nothing of all this. Ramesh has been missing from the evening of her birthday party. They have learnt of his hasty departure from the city, but nothing else. Though she pines inwardly, she is confident that he will return soon.

Back in Ramesh's new home in Kolkata, the facts of mistaken identity gradually come to light. She is Kamala not Susheela. Her husband is a doctor named Nalinaksha Chatterjee. Ramesh writes an advertisement to trace his whereabouts; but he does not have the heart to break this news to the helpless trusting young girl in his care. He puts her into a boarding school instead. But soon, Hem's would be suitor Akshay comes to know of Ramesh's secret and brings proof positive to Hem. Ramesh, unable to handle such a scandal, seeks hiding in Gorakhpur with Kamala.

A devastated Hem is brought to Kashi by her father to help her forget. There she meets Nalinaksha and they warm up to each other.

Kamala in the meanwhile having read the advertisement in an old newspaper, realizes the enormity of the lie she has been living, and walks out determined to drown herself in the river. Ramesh returns and finds her suicide note, searches everywhere to no avail. He does not know that she has been rescued by a courtesan and deposited in Kashi under Nalinaksha's mother's care. Kamala now sees her real husband for the first time, but cannot speak up, for he is betrothed to Hem.

Finally, the advertisement she keeps knotted in her saree is discovered, and the whole truth comes to light. Ramesh finally traces Nalinaksha and arrives at his house.

The whole sorry mess raises many questions of head and heart and the validity or otherwise of social conventions. We are left wondering whether true love will finally triumph.

Bol Movie Story

Storyline of the Movie: Bol (2011)

Bol Movie Synopsis / Preview

Bol is Shoaib Mansoor's second dramatic breakthrough of revealing life with its complexities. After 'Khuda Kay Liye', that went on to win several international awards, Bol is another gripping story authored by him. A story that shows the realities of life very closely. The web of relationships within a family that barely makes ends meet. On top of the poverty the father subscribes to a set of values many would relate to…Values that we inherit and tightly hold on to, values that embody contradictions, values that have not been questioned.

Bol is a roller coaster of emotions, yet carries subtleties that make your heartbeat stop. Based in the heart of Lahore, the story takes place in a house full of daughters, with vibrancy of life, yet restrictions on blooming. It questions the worth of a human being, may it be a woman or a person born with defect. It questions the authority of reproducing human beings into this world without taking responsibility of acknowledging their worth.

Bol takes you through a journey into the life of this family experiencing their troubles, sufferings, resolves and high points. As family members take decisions to solve their problems they steep into deeper troubles. The complexity of their circumstances becomes a struggle of life and death.

Humaina Malick, after gaining popularity on the small screen in the recent years has been picked for the big screen for the first time. She plays a daughter who gets affected the most by the family tensions. She respects the norms she has been given by her parents yet is compelled by her intuitive logic and sense for justice to rebel.

Atif Aslam plays an enlightened neighbor, and with his two loves, one for music and the other for the next door beauty, Mahira Khan, adds romance and melody to the film.

Iman Ali will be seen in a very different role than her usual appearances. Courtesan who is ambivalent between the standards of success her family considers so important and the desires of her own heart.

Bol is Bold.

Life sahi hai tension nahi hai (Pyaar ka Punchnama) Lyrics, Translation

Life sahi hai
Life sahi hai, tension nahi hai
Yaari ka cooker hai, seeti hansi hai
Jab bhi baji hai kaske baji hai

Life is right,
Life is great, there's no tension,
It's a cooker of friendship, whistle is laughter,
Whenever it blows, it blows loud..

Life sahi hai tension nahi hai
Life sahi hai tension nahi nahi nahi..

gar tumko hai problem tumhara issue hai
Na rumal hai humpe na humpe tissue hai
Sutte ka kohra hai daaru bahi hai

If it's your problem, it's your issue,
we don't have a handkerchief, nor we have a tissue,
there is fog of cigarette, and liquor is flowing..

Life sahi hai tension nahi hai
Life sahi hai tension nahi nahi nahi nahi...

Code ki hai khaate code ki hai bajate
Chaddi dhoondhne ko bhi hum to googlaate
Apni to geeta Floyd ki kahi hai

Our living is code, and we beat the code too,
even to look for the underwear, we Google it,
Our Geeta is said by Floyd..

Life sahi hai tension nahi hai
Life sahi hai tension nahiiiii...

Na kisi ka rona dhona.. na koi siyappa
Har kisi ko taada har kisi ko napa
Chhichoristan ke hum chowdhary hain

Nobody's crying, no tension,
have checked out everyone, measured everybody,
We are the leader of the kingdom of the characterless..

Life sahi hai tension nahi hai
Life sahi hai tension nahi nahi nahi..
Life sahi hai tension nahi hai
Life sahi hai tension nahi nahi nahiiiiiii..

The Mutton Song Song Lyrics from Luv Ka The End

the same life flows through all that is

.

When you know beyond all doubting that  and you are that life, you will love all naturally and spontaneously. When you realize the depth and fullness of your love of yourself, you know that every living being and the entire universe are included in your affection. But when you look at anything as separate from you, you cannot love it for you are afraid of it. Alienation causes fear and fear deepens alienation. It is a vicious circle. Only self - realization can break it. Go for it resolutely.

In dream you love some and not others. On waking up you find you are love itself, embracing all. Personal love, however intense and genuine, invariably binds; love in freedom is love of all....When you are love itself, you are beyond time and numbers. In loving one you love all, in loving all, you love each. One and all are not exclusive.

All the universe will be your concern; every living thing you will love and help most tenderly and wisely.

Bhindi Baazaar Inc Movie Story

Storyline of the Movie: Bhindi Baazaar Inc (2011)

Bhindi Baazaar Inc Movie Synopsis / Preview

A realistic gripping account of politics set among the dark underbelly of Mumbai pickpockets in the infamous area of "Bhindi Baazaar"....

Like every other commercial organization here too are employees and their designations. They too have field work, administration structure and skill-set, alongside they also have business rivalry; this is a company called Bhindi Baazaar Inc. Here their main trade is to pickpocket. 'Mamu' is a title of a local mafia-head of Bhindi Baazaar Incorporation, it is a position nobody even thinks to reach, leave aside attempting to be there. Years ago the reigning Mamu snatched it from someone and may be someone has to do the same to be the next, but you never know who it can be, just as you don't know who your enemy is in the game of Chess, a game where a mere pawn can cross the Chessboard and become a 'Vazir'.

The Film begins with a Game of Chess between 'Shroff' and 'Darzi', each move of which unfolds the story which leads to the motive of their meeting. The story unfolds as a quest of a small time pickpocket 'Fateh', next in line to be Mamu to travel that extra mile and get that position. His fascination with the position and power of name Mamu leads him and his small group of fellow pickpockets and his close friend Darzi through a trail of Betrayals, Revelations, Deceits and Vengeance... but no one gets there clean and though every pawn can be in the run, not every in the Chessboard is destined to be the Vazir. Sometimes the kingmakers use some pieces to reach the ultimate destination.

The conflict takes an ugly turn when the authoritatively regulated world of these small time crooks under Mamu is shaken by a decision of not involving his pickpocket gang for spreading a flu virus through syringes, so that the antidote which is worth crores is put in use, due to which the pharmaceutical company draws rich profits, which gives the rival 'Pandey' a chance to manipulate Fateh and use him to plan Mamu's murder. And then begins the streak of betrayals that involved everyone in that world shown through the game of chess and the people through the Chessboard pieces. Nobody in this saga of shady politics is clean, everyone comes out to be mean to their core and have their hidden motives. Every piece in a chessboard has its importance, but when a pawn crosses the whole board and becomes the Vazir it changes the whole structure. This is the story of a pawn and his travel to reach to the other end of the board. This story is of this pawn who manipulates every move so that his way to reach to the top is cleared. This story is about how these small time pickpocket use their intelligence and spontaneity to survive in this mean and political vicinity called Bhindi Baazaar Incorporation.

The Pawn who is sitting in front of Shroff, playing the game of Chess, reveals his quest to reach the position of Mamu, which only Shroff can assign. Shroff is the boss of all and he invites the pawn Darzi, the best friend of Fateh and supposedly the underdog for a game of Chess.

Do you believe what you see......or ........see what you believe?

ignorant of their ignorance

.
Ignorant of their ignorance, yet wise
In their own esteem, those deluded men
Proud of their vain learning go round and round
Like the blind led by the blind.  Far beyond
Their eyes, hypnotized by the world of sense,
Opens the way to immortality.
"I am my body; when my body dies,
I die." Living in this superstition,
They fall life after life under my sway.

It is but few who hear about the Self.
Fewer still dedicate their lives to its
Realization.  Wonderful is the one
Who speaks about the Self.  Rare are they
Who make it the supreme goal of their lives.

Stanley Ka Dabba Movie Story

Storyline of the Movie: Stanley Ka Dabba (2011)

Stanley Ka Dabba Movie Synopsis / Preview

Imagine this boy in your mind's eye. He arrives in school much before any of his classmates to drum away his blues on empty benches. He stuffs himself with water instead of the nutritious food that his schoolmates relish during the lunch break. He covers up for his lack of social rank with the finesse of the most seasoned diplomat. Who is this child? What is he like? Why is he anything like he is? Wouldn't you like to know? Meet Stanley, the protagonist of the much awaited Stanley Ka Dabba.

Stanley Ka Dabba is the latest offering from the insightful writer-director, Amole Gupte that throws light on the everyday life of a school going child. The character, Stanley, tugs at your heartstrings with his indomitable spirit, while warding off the hostile world he is surrounded by at all times, everywhere. The film reveals how this is child-soldier, rises above his choking real life situation on the way setting a template for all whiners to learn from, even emulate.

Like most others his ilk, Stanley loves to be amongst friends and win the appreciation of his peers and colleagues. He uses his sparkling wit and innocent wisdom to impress everyone he touches. At times spinning-a-yarn amongst friends about his mother's flight, while on occasion conjuring some heartfelt poetry to impress the lovely English teacher, Rosy Miss (Divya Dutta). There are though teachers like the pungent Science Madam, Ms Iyer (Divya Jagdale) whose rigid beliefs smother Stanley's innovative science experiment with all the contempt at her disposal. Then there is the gluttonous Hindi master, Verma Sir (Amole Gupte) who emerges as the catalyst in helping the boys bond for Stanley's dignity and rightful place in the school.

The camaraderie between the boys comes to the fore when they thwart Verma Sir's desperate attempts to polish off their dabbas with all the guile at their disposal. The gang makes the 'invincible' Verma show his true vulnerable self for once as he marches from one possible hideout to another in the school premises trying to binge upon their home made food.

Stanley, the little protagonist of Amole Gupte's, latest film Stanley Ka Dabba shows how, like the proverbial lotus, can one rise above all the filth around and makes the world a better, beautiful place to live in.

The way he goes about bringing cheer to his colleagues and his little friends is what makes him the Stanley we all need to be in today's day and age. Wise and sensitive, loving and mischievous: living every moment as if there is no tomorrow.
