In this song, ka kha ga gha, that make the title of the song, are the first four letters of the Hindi alphabet. This is one interesting part of the song, because we rarely get to see such things in Hindi, and sounds wonderful too. However, for the purpose of translation into English, we have translated it as ABCD, which is not the exact translation, but gives the correct meaning anyway.
aye, tumse mili to pyaar ka seekha, ka kha ga gha
aye, samjhaao na kyun pyaar ka ulTa hai, ka kha ga gha
kyun jo dard de, taDpaaye bhi, lagta hai pyara woh hi
kyun TooTe ye dil, kehlaaye dil tabhi..
when I met you, I learnt the abcd of love,
hey, explain to me why is the abcd of love is opposite (to common sense, counterintuitive)
why, the one who gives pain, torments too, only seems loving,
why does this heart have to break and is then only called heart..
tairne ki jo koshishein kare kaahe Doob jaata hai
sab bhula ke jo doob jaaye kyun wo tair paata hai
wo jo har khel mein jeeta yahaan dilbar se hara wohi
kyun TooTe ye dil, kehlaaye dil tabhi..
whoever tries to swim, why does s/he drown
and the one who forgets everything and drowns, is the one to swim..
the one who has won in every game, he only lost to the beloved here,
why does this heart have to break and is then only called heart..
aye, tumse mili to pyaar ka seekha, ka kha ga gha
aye, samjhaao na kyun pyaar ka ulTa hai, ka kha ga gha
dhat teri!
iski hai saza kubool ho jise yahaan wahi wahi bari hua hai
is mein jo muqadmaa kare aji wahi wahi mara hai
bataao kyun is jail se bhaaga hai jo dobaara lauta wo bhi
kyun TooTe ye dil, kehlaaye dil tabhi..
Oh damn!
the one who accepts the punishment here, is the one who goes free here,
in this, the one who files the litigation, he, he only dies..
tell me why who runs from this prison also comes back again,
why does this heart have to break and is then only called heart.
aye, tumse mili to pyaar ka seekha, ka kha ga gha
aye, samjhaao na kyun pyaar ka ulTa hai, ka kha ga gha
