Masaan (मसान) is a Hindi word, which is nothing but a tadbhav, a deformed version of Sanskrit (an Hindi) word shmashaan (श्मशान).
Masaan, or Shmashaan, means a crematorium, a place where dead bodies are cremated. A kind of cemetery.
Masaan is the title of an award winning Bollywood film, written by Varun Grover and with director Neeraj Ghaywan, starring Richa Chadda, Saurabh Chadhary, Sanjay Mishra, and Vicky Kaushal.
The English title for the film is Fly Away Solo.
