Kochadaiiyaan Meaning [Rajinikanth Movie]

Seriously, that's the new spelling. I had written a post on the meaning long time back, but I was not expecting a double i stunt with Rajini sir's movie too. Looks like Superstition is going places these days.

Anyway, Kochadaiyan Ranadhiran was a Pandya king in the seventh century, who is known to have fought and won many battles against the Cheras, Cholas and Marathas among others.

But then, Kochadaiyan literally means 'a King with matted hair' as Ko means a King and Chadaiyaan means one with matted hair. So kochadaiyaan would be king with matted hair.

And then, with that name, Kochadaiyaan is also used for Lord Shiva sometimes.

And that's the name of Rajini sir's film. Kochadaiyaan. Or Kochadaiiyaan now.

Honey Singh's Lungi Dance: Lyrics and Translation

Lungi Dance is a latest single by Honey Singh and seems he's readily took it out after the rumor that he'd be rapping with SPB for Chennai Express and Shekhar's [of Vishal-Shekhar] denial on the same. As such the single is supposed to be 'A tribute to Rajnikant Ji', some of the lines may even be offensive to South Indians, like Coconut in Lassi, probably not intentionally though. Anyway, here is a translation of the lyrics of the song.

Arima Arima meaning

Enthiran, or Robot, has some strange words in the songs. Arima Arima is one of them. The word is title of a song and interestingly it is there in all the three languages Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

That's why I thought the word could be from Tamil and tried to find out the meaning. But the word, as far as I could find out, doesn't exist even in Tamil. I know it does not exist in Hindi and don't think it might in Telugu.

So, as far as I know, Arima hardly has a meaning. Still, if you go a bit wild in searching and take into account more languages, you might find that Arima means Hill in Trinidad and Tobago where Arima is also the name of a town.

Most probably the word has been kept with the same meaning in mind as the sentence just before Arima Arima says 'ye hai yaantrik manav sabse ooncha' (this is the tallest machinic human, or robot).

So in my opinion, Arima means a hill. Any further details/suggestions are welcome.

Pagal Anukan, pyaare dil mein kitne hain..

The very first words of Mohit Chauhan's song in Robot and you're bowled. Well, if you didn't get the meaning of Pagal Anukan, or precisely Anukan, here it is.

Anukan is nothing but two words anu (अणु) and kan (कण) joined. Anu means molecule and kan means particle. Hence, Anukan means molecular particle, or just molecule, while pagal anukan means molecules of madness as pagal is mad.

Enthiran/ Endhiran Meaning

Enthiran/ Endhiran is Rajnikant-Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer multilingual film with the Hindi version of the movie called Robot.

The meaning of Enthiran or Endhiran also is the same, Robot, as the word is parallel to the Hindi word Yantra which actually comes from a Sanskrit root. Yantra, in Hindi as well as Sanskrit is used for 'machine.'
