Kalinka 7 Khoon Maaf Meaning

Kalinka is a Russian song written in 1860 by composer and folklorist Ivan Larionov. The song 'Darling' in Vishal Bhardwaj's 7 Khoon Maaf is based on the song only. To make it all the more visible, Vishal has kept the words 'Kalinka Kalinka Kalinka Moya' as is in the other version of the song, Doosri Darling.

The meaning of the lines, found from Wikipedia, is as follows:

Bekaran/ Bekaraan Meaning

Bekaran/ Bekaraan is an Urdu word which means without a shore, limitless.

This is different from Bekaraar/Beqaraar which means restless.

PS: Kasak means a feeling of loss for something one couldn't/can't get.

Sansani Meaning

Sansani is a Urdu/Hindi word that most probably comes from English word sensation. Hence, the meaning of the word is the same, a Sensation, a high excitement regarding something.

However, the word is not used for the light sensations, for example the sensation of a touch is not sansani.

7 Khoon Maaf Meaning

Literally, 7 Khoon maaf means 7 murders forgiven. At the same time, it seems that Vishal Bhardwaj's upcoming movie also has Priyanka Chopra that is Susanna killing her seven husbands, so there will be seven murders and that is what the title of the movie seems to be all about.

Though there is one more thing that should be clarified here. 'Saat Khoon Maaf' is an old term which used to mean a bit different from this. Since khoon also means blood, saat khoon used to signify coming seven generations (just like saat pushten), or simply 'all generations' of someone, and saat khoon maaf was used to forgive someone forever, generally by kings and all, as it would mean (all) seven generations forgiven.

Saat Khoon Maaf Meaning

Saat Khoon Maaf is Vishal Bharadwaj's next film releasing in January 2011, on the 21st day as per the details available yet. The movie which literally means 'Seven murders forgiven' has Priyanka Chopra in the lead role with seven heroes playing seven spouses of her.

The title of the movie has an extra punch to it because 'Saat Khoon' was a popular term in earlier India which meant all coming generations of a family. For example, if a king told someone saat khoon maaf, that meant seven generations (figuratively all) of the family or the person were forgiven for whatever one had done.
