It was a special evening for the veteran actress, Sridevi who celebrated her birthday with the trailer launch of her comeback film, ‘English Vinglish’. She celebrated her birthday with her family as she made a grand entry at the event.

The three minute trailer was showcased at the event, the trailer clicked instantly with the audience as they requested to watch the glimpse of this beautiful journey lead by the stunning diva once again. The event started off on a high note, with R. Balki proudly displaying the trailer of his wife Gauri Shinde’s directorial stint.
Followed by the trailer launch, was the excited and ecstatic sounding Sridevi who shared her heart warming experience with the director Gauri Shinde. She expressed her excitement about being a part of this beautiful film, as Gauri lovingly referred Sridevi as ‘hero’ of the film. Sridevi was delighted with the response for the trailer as she said, “Thank you Gauri for the best birthday gift, there couldn’t be a better gift than this. My family is also with me and it is indeed a very special day for me”.

English Vinglsih is Sridevi’s comeback film after 15 years of sabbatical; and it also happens to be the first time Sridevi has worked with a female director. Sridevi also said that this movie and the characters are very close to her heart as she feels very lucky to be part of this film.

English Vinglish is a story of a woman’s struggle with the English language and the insecurities she faces because of it. The film is shot mostly in New York and captures her transformational journey. English Vinglish will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions immediately after its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in its prestigious gala section. The festival runs through 6 -16th September, 2012. The film is scheduled to release on the 5th of October, 2012 and the cast and the crew can’t wait to watch the audience’s response.
